When emintell was engaged to deliver executive women’s leadership coaching, the client had worked at BGS for fifteen years.

Due to a period of personal and professional challenges, including a serious bout of illness, the client’s levels of confidence had been adversely impacted. The client was particularly concerned about her ability to secure a more senior role within the organisation, one that was commensurate with her skills, talent and experience. The main areas of focus for the coaching engagement were to support her in regaining her confidence, gain clarity about her core work strengths and preferences and to plan her next career move.

What We Did

A key part of emintell’s coaching approach was to offer the client the right balance of support, challenge and feedback, especially in relation to the client’s belief framework. The client undertook a personal strengths inventory, which proved to be invaluable to her in understanding areas of untapped strengths as well as those she could optimise more. This, together with work mapping out the client’s core values system, formed the basis of the on-going transformational coaching conversations. The client realised that the role she wanted most was within BGS, at a higher level.

The client applied for, and was ultimately successful in, securing the role as Head of Engagement and Communications at The British Geological Society. The client was supported by emintell through the recruitment process, and especially leading up to the rigorous panel interview process. The client successfully secured the role within three months of commencing the coaching programme and was understandably delighted, both with herself and with the coaching process, which she attributes as a key factor in successfully applying for and securing the role she most wanted.

 

Impact and Benefits

The client secured her “dream job” within three months of commencing the coaching programme. She believes that she may not have applied for the role or been successful in securing it without the coaching services provided by emintell. She is quickly establishing herself as a very effective leader. Most importantly, she is very happy and flourishing in her new role.
