Nottingham City Homes
Nottingham City Homes manage around 27,000 homes in the city of Nottingham. Their vision is to create homes and places where people want to live. Nottingham City Homes has won numerous awards in recent years, in recognition of the innovative energy efficient and attractive housing schemes it builds and develops, and the quality of services it supplies to its many housing clients. The leadership team wanted to collectively improve their leadership brand presence and impact, with each other and to improve their influence across the whole span of the organisation.
City Homes is an arms’ length management organisation (ALMO) of Nottingham City Council – that means that the council owns the homes, and City Home manages them on its behalf, under the governance of a Board made up of councillors, tenants and leaseholders, and independent and co-opted members. At the time of engagement, the senior leadership team of the organisational client comprised five directors, all responsible for a specific area of delivery and operations, within the organisation.
The leadership team wanted to collectively improve their leadership brand presence and impact, with each other and to improve their influence across the whole span of the organisation. The organisation was experiencing challenges in relation to enough funding for the growth in services it wanted to deliver to its clients. The ensuing demanding pressures were having an impact on the performance and morale of the executive board, which the leadership team recognised and wanted to address. Initially, the coaching programme commenced with two senior leaders: the director of housing services and the head of learning and development. The results for both leaders were excellent. As a result of the impressive results they achieved in terms of achieving their professional and personal coaching objectives, it was then decided to extend the coaching programme to two other members of the executive board of directors; the company secretary, and the head of business investment and development. Emintell also engaged with the coaching of two other valuable members of the organisational client, the head of marketing and the Head of communications.
In all, emintell delivered a programme of five coaching sessions each and associated support, to six senior leaders within the organisation over a two-year period and the client is delighted with the results.
We also supported the organisation with growing the resilience of it’s workforce through the delivery of tailored workshops to a cross-range of employees from across the organisation.
“Elaine expertly supports you to be the kind of leader you want to be.”
