The coaching client is a member of the senior management team of an award-winning regional housing association, responsible for managing 27,000 homes on behalf of the Nottingham City Council. As the focus was on effectively developing his Leadership Brand, presence and impact, the coaching approach was to support him build clarity and awareness around the following key aspects of his leadership
As part of the coaching process, which was delivered over a six-month period, the client committed to making improvements to his inter-personal communication, through repeated practice and testing impact and outcomes.
Through his commitment to practice new approaches, together with his willingness to engage in honest dialogue and coaching feedback, the client made immense progress against his stated objectives, using the measurements of progress that had been agreed at the contracting stage.
The coaching client secured real insight and clarity into what his core values purpose, motivations and communication preferences are. With this insight and new awareness, he successfully worked on aspects of his brand and presence where he wanted to have more personal impact and influence. His commitment to modifying his style and approach in relation to interpersonal communications, with a focus on board room communications resulted in him being much more effective and confident in his role. This was particularly in relation to his ability to both challenge and influence key business strategy and development decisions. He became a more rounded effective leader, comfortable in his own authentic leadership style and brand, one that reflected his core purpose, and values, which he uses now to full effect within the organisation.
